Medical Technologist

POSITION SUMMARY

DPS is assisting a large multi-specialty clinic in the DE/MD area with the process of planning and constructing a moderate complexity clinical laboratory. The company is seeking a full time experienced Medical Technologist to develop and manage all aspects for the implementation of the laboratory. 

Position Description:

The Medical Technologist will assist with budgeting and planning, developing and implementing policies and procedures (Standard Operating Policy (SOPs)), hiring laboratory staff, preparing lab for CLIA certification, meet with vendors, implementation of instruments and beginning operations.

 

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field. MT certification (American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT), Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT), Registered Medical Technologist (RMT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS))

Experience: 3 or more years in a clinical laboratory setting.  CLIA certification experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and abilities: Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations, delegation and planning. Effective communication skills and leadership qualities. PC skills to create documents/reports utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database computer applications. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner,

Histotechnician with Mohs

Performs histology and cytology preparation procedures on patient specimens submitted for the diagnoses of disease. Maintain specimen identity and integrity, produce high quality stained slides using standardized procedures to meet the Pathologist’s requirements for microscopic evaluation, and perform quality control and preventative maintenance according to established policy. Works independently, organizing work to meet established policy and deadlines.  Interacts with patient populations from neonate to elderly and with patients of all types of illnesses.
